Industrial Chic.

Metal Pieces + Traditional Decor = INDUSTRIAL CHIC.

This is something that I am incorporating in all designing and decorating right now. Think 1930s warehouse... what would you find in there? Perhaps an old metal basket, wooden cart with large metal rollers, metal cabinets, large industrial light fixtures or metal stools. To update your living room or kitchen... add a skosh of metal to your decor and get that industrial chic look. Check out HudsonGoods.com for some great finds. Here are some ideas. See you soon. It is time to UPDATE.

Well hello blog world and welcome to At Home with Alli, a branch of allimclar.com. I also welcome you to my "lovely" kitchen. When my husband and I decided to update our 1917 bungalow in Houston, Texas, I knew it was time to blog. Please follow me on my design adventure as I decor, create and shop!
First up... kitchen renovation. Here are the before pictures. Sorry for the bad lighting and messiness.

I decided to go with open shelving to create a larger feel since our kitchen is long and narrow. We moved the washing machine and dryer out of the kitchen for even more room. As we were tearing out the water heater closet we found the original brick chimney...and of course we kept that! Here is the kitchen inspiration board below. I can not wait to share our new kitchen with you! See you soon! -alli
